By popular demand, I'm back on the blog!!!

:-D

Living with Becky is GRRRREEEEAAAT! We made our little palace sparkle because her folks were in town! I love our apartment! We're right on the cusp of a seedy neighborhood...granted it's on the seedy-side of the cusp, but we're on the cusp nonetheless. I watched a gorgeous sunset from our rooftop the other day--you only have to lean precariously 6 stories above 45th street to see the water!

I'm still on the job hunt! My day job gets worse every day I spend working there... My boss is a skeezy little shrimp who spends his day recruiting guillible young-uns to waste their lives making him money. I also have to deal with one of the grossest guys I've ever met using every pick-up line in the book (and yes, I've read the book...I own it) trying to get me to go out on a date with him. Apparrently "NO, you're gross" doesn't work as well as it used to...

I start my night job tonight! I'm going to be doing promotions for Pilsner-Urquell, which means that I have to wear a cocktail dress and give guys free beer and pass out T-shirts for $30 an hour. I think I'm going to like this job better than being a part-time receptionist in a salon ;-)

My night life is still great! Wednesday was CRAZY! I ended up going with my friend Nicole to a Maxim-sponsored party at a swingin club called Rock Candy where we made it into the VIP section and got drinks from Mark McGrath and rubbed elbows with Chris Evans (who plays Johnny Storm/the Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic 4 movie)!! Mark even hit on Nicole as he was leaving the club and whistled at her from across the street!

Anyhoo, that's the quick update...I'm starving and hungover, so I think I'll go stuff my face with some greasy diner food! It's not Tatanka, but I guess it'll have to do :-)

I still miss everybody out west and can't wait to hear from all my friends! Xoxo

Well, well, well!

I've finally come through on my word and joined the wide world of bloggers! How exciting!

Anyhoo, I guess here's a quick update on my many adventures since moving out to NYC with my roommate Becky:

My apartment is FABULOUS and surprisingly big, despite how small it looked when Becky and I first moved in. It's right in the middle of Hell's Kitchen, but the hooker wars take place on the street-side of our building, but our apartment is in the back, so we don't hear them. :-) We've slowly but surely started accumulating things like furniture, a tv, dvd player, and alcohol. Eventually we might even be able to afford to put some food in our cupboards, but that'll probably have to wait til after payday.

Somehow the two of us have found ourselves on VIP lists at clubs and lounges all over town! We've gotten into amazing clubs without paying cover, made it into the VIP sections, and have not had to pay for a drink since last week! The list of cool places includes Whiskey's, Club Duvet (the one featured on Sex and the City and filled with nothing but beds), Frederick's (across the street from the Plaza Hotel and equally lavish and expensive), and Cipriani Upstairs (a members-only lounge frequented by celebrities and models). I even went to a million-dollar birthday party for a luxury jeweler where I saw stars such as 50 Cent, Mya, Praz, and Boyz-II-Men, not to mention more bling than I ever thought existed! ...I can't believe it myself! I am starting to learn, though, that drinking as much free alcohol as I can isn't necessarily the best idea, as there's been more than one occasion where I have made the biggest ass of myself ever and don't even remember it... THAT sounds more like my style :-)

I have also had my first birthday here in the City! :-D On Saturday, the 11th of June, I turned 23 and went to the Belmont stakes on Long Island. If you don't know what that is, it's a big horse race not unlike the Kentucky Derby. Anyway, as it was my special day, I drank waaaaay too much alcohol and have only a spotty recollection of most of the day. Long story short, I took a siesta on the train home and ended up rallying for a night of heavy drinking that lasted until about 6:30 in the morning and involved dancing, a HERD of hotties, and trying to walk home from the Upper East Side (which is FAR, especially in heels!). Overall, I've been having more fun than I ever thought possible.

I do miss my T-Town homies, though! I hope you're all having a great summer and that y'all know I still think of ya. I've gotta run, though...I have to go work on getting a real job! ew!

XOXO
